What is different for dental
Dental plans ask for different things, and many dental systems are read-only to outside billers.
Predeterminations
Sent electronically as dental claims flagged for predetermination. Returned estimates are matched to the treatment plan.
Dental claims (837D)
Checked for payer ID, frequency code and NPIs before sending. Sending is idempotent, so a claim is never billed twice.
Posting worksheet
Where we can only read your practice-management system, we prepare a verified posting worksheet for your team to enter.
Benefits detail
Coverage checks run today. Frequencies and history need a dental clearinghouse connection that is still in progress.
How switching works
Your current biller keeps billing during shadow mode.
Agreements
Business Associate Agreement between your practice and Vixel Agency, plus the service agreement.

Questions
How much do your dental billing services cost?
The full service is 1.5% of insurance collections, meaning payments received from payers. Patient payments are not included. Credentialing is $99 per payer application (one provider, one payer), billed separately from the 1.5% service fee.
Can you verify dental frequencies and history?
Not yet. Coverage checks run today. Frequencies and history need a dental clearinghouse connection that is in progress.
Do you send predeterminations?
Yes. They go out electronically as dental claims flagged for predetermination, and the returned estimate is matched to your treatment plan.
Can you post into our practice-management system?
Where we only have read access, we prepare a verified posting worksheet for your team to enter. We never write into a system we were given read access to.

No. In shadow mode your current biller keeps billing while we run every claim through our checks on de-identified test data and compare results.
