Insurance verification requests (IVR)

For wound care and other product-driven specialties, Eligibility Hub prepares a full insurance verification request for each patient and product. It pre-fills from the chart, adds wound size, the suggested CPT family and best-fit product size, saves a snapshot that flags later chart changes, and delivers the request to the manufacturer, distributor or biller.

Who does what

Eligibility Hub does

  • Pre-fill each request from the chart
  • Add wound size, the suggested CPT family and the best-fit product size
  • Save a snapshot and flag when the chart changes after the request was prepared
  • Deliver the request to the manufacturer, distributor or biller
  • Flag where an authorization is needed

Your practice does

  • Capture insurance cards and member IDs at intake
  • Keep wound measurements and clinical notes current in the chart

Limits worth knowing

  • A verification request gathers what the payer and supplier need. The payer still decides coverage.
  • Whether a specific product is likely covered is answered by the coverage check.

Questions

What is an insurance verification request?

The packet a manufacturer, distributor or biller needs before a product is applied: insurance details, wound size, the suggested CPT family and product size, drawn from the chart.

Which specialties is it built for?

Wound care and other specialties where a specific product is billed, such as skin substitutes.

What happens if the chart changes after a request is prepared?

The saved snapshot is compared with the chart and the request is flagged, so you can send an accurate version.

Is this an automated phone line?

No. Here IVR means insurance verification request, a document. It is not an interactive voice response phone menu.
